The BCA programme is started in the year 1995. The Primary objective of the Department of Computer Applications is to facilitate the students of the High Ranges to explore the unlimited realms of Information Technology. The Department reforms the basic skills needed for a computer professional. The Honourable NSS Management has a dream to convert the “spices village” Rajakumari to a “cyber village” and the department thrives to make it a reality. In a short span of time, the Department is proud to have produced Six University Rank holders in the Mahatma Gandhi University. The BCA course is designed as a foundation course in Computer Applications in the Under Graduate Level. Three year course is divided into six semesters and follows a well formulated syllabus containing theory, practical sessions as well as implementation of two projects in the final year. On completion of the course, the students will have the basic knowledge in programming languages like C, COBOL, C++ and JAVA and also they will have the needed proficiency in MS OFFICE packages, Visual Basic and web programming tools. The course structure includes papers on Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research. Also it introduces the basic hardware knowledge and applications of Internet to the students. The computer lab is well designed and has sufficient number of computer sytems to cater to the needs of the students. The Department is proud to have an innovative style of working pattern which includes a set of well designed programming assignments to be completed in each semester in the computer lab, periodic test papers and seminars. Constant monitoring of student performance adds to the glory of the Department .
